Technology Promotion¶
Whilst you identify why introducing a technology is valuable, the art of adoption is understanding how (and when) to share that value with others in a way that solves the problems that are important to them.
Find a hook to interest others
Adoption is easier for all once you understand how a new technology will significantly benefit other.
Your personal view of the benefits may not be relevant to anyone else and could be at odds with their biases.
Pitch to a person with their specific benefits in mind. What problem are you solving for them.
Understand the right time to share
When people are under greater stress or otherwise less open to ideas, then even a small change can be seen highly negatively.
Ensure people have the space to feel open to a new idea before discussing in detail
Drip-feed a new technology
Focus on the problem that a new technology will solve and regularly discuss this issue to understand how important this problem is to others.
Tease that you have ideas on how to start solving the problem and discover ways to quickly show how the problem can become less painful without adding extra work.
