Cycling Events¶
Joining an organised event or creating your own event is a great way to explore new areas and cycle socially.
Cycling clubs and cycling event organisations regularly run events throughout the year.
Most cycling clubs have social rides that are welcoming to new or less experienced cyclists.
Types of Events¶
- Audax: self-sufficient rides, very limited or no support
- Sportive: organised challenges with support (feed stops, mechanics, etc.)
- Multi-day: organised challenge over several days with accommodation (e.g. tents, B&B, Hotel)
- Bike packing: self-organised trip where all equipment is carried on the bike
